The Ignis Tigris or Fire Tiger can be categorized as a lesser fire diety. It is the offspring of a tiger's ghost and a wandering spirit of fire. As such fire tigers are immortal if barren. Most if not all are female and can grow to be fifty feet long. They prefer to live solitary lives and feed off the living fires of the land. Usually they will choose territory close to a fault or extinct volcano and use their powers to pull the lava up from the earth until the land is overrun by magma. It is said that only one of their mouths is used to eat the energy from the fire and lava while the other is used to devour the souls of those hapless creatures lost to it. They've also been known to devour flesh, both that of the living and dead.

This image started out as an impulse and turned into something a bit more complicated. The fur is probably the most detailed I've done as of yet. Despite the fact that she looks terrified of her own tail, I'm pretty proud of how this piece turned out.

The trees are from a brush set I got from :iconredheadstock: .

If you see death and fear him, he will pounce and snatch you away to your afterlife, but if you see death and are not afraid of him, he will greet you like an old friend taking you hand-in-hand to the next world. -Anonymous (JOIN THE SWORDS APRIL 20)
Sweet Jesus...the final piece is just amazing. I love it. All the details you put into the fur and just everything came out so well. You have every right to be proud of this.
